Welcome to my blog

My Educational Technology Experience
On this Blog website I will host artifacts that I create as I work towards earning my graduate certificate in Educational Technology through the LSU online program. This is my first week in this course. I have built websites before, but have not had the opportunity to delve deeper into the engagement of producing e-learning artifacts and multimedia creations.
I feel this course will help me gain a stronger design and development skill in digital learning. What I hope to gain from this course is to sincerely demonstrate a sharp perspective and skill for developing interactive simulations and the functional styles of multimedia presentations.

Applying Static Multimedia Principles to Canva Tutorial
The objective of this assignment is to present a strong interpretation of the educational and training environments in which static multimedia tutorials can provide invaluable tools for learners and educators alike (Clark & Mayer, 2024). Among these, static multimedia tutorials that combine text, images, diagrams, and other non-animated visual elements—offer unique advantages for effective knowledge transfer. This document explores the key benefits of using static multimedia tutorials. The step-by-step tutorial provided in my blog demonstrates the coherence principles focused on how learning is improved when extraneous information is excluded.
In Canva, for example, this means producing images, backgrounds, or decorative elements that directly support your message. This tutorial demonstrates how to apply both the spatial and temporal contiguity principles using a static multimedia tutorial created in Canva can work. By applying these key principles, clarity, consistency, balance, and relevance, a student can create effective static multimedia tutorials that educate and engage their audience (Clark & Mayer, 2024). Whether for educational, business, or personal use, well-designed static multimedia enhances communication and ensures your message is understood.
It is here that static multimedia tutorials also present information in a clear and straightforward manner. By combining text with relevant images, and or charts, complex concepts can be broken down into easily digestible components (Mayer, 2024). This visual reinforcement aids comprehension, especially for visual learners. According to Ashley and Tuten (2015), static multimedia refers to digital content that combines multiple media elements, such as text, images, graphics, and diagrams without dynamic movement or interactive features. I wanted to share through my tutorial that the understanding Canva for example and its principles functions will aid in the development of a comprehensive static multimedia platform.
The goal here is to offer an essential product that is creative, engaging, informative, and visually appealing. Overall, my tutorial is thoughtful and applies all of the Contiguity Principles in static multimedia Canva tutorials. In addition, I have taken steps to ensure that individuals are able to strive to make connections between instructions and visuals to gain the most out of their most learning experience. It was my intention to encourage a deeper understanding of the use of static multimedia and offer an experience designed to strategically cater to individuals with different learning speeds. The objective was in leveraging visual elements alongside text, they facilitate better understanding of the benefits of the static multimedia platform including clarity, accessibility, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness (Mayer, 2024).
